Future Needs participated in the Reconmatic project kick-off meeting that took place in Prague, Czech Republic, on the 8th and 9th of September, 2022. The Reconmatic project, standing for Automated Solutions for sustainable and circular construction and demolition waste management, will provide a suite of innovative tools, solutions and techniques to build bridges through “bottom-up” construction and demolition waste (CDW) prevention, management and handling. The aim is to contribute to reach the expected future EU target of high CDW recovery (to be set by EC in 2024 or beyond) and most importantly the status of zero CDW by 2050.
All partners were welcomed by our coordinator in the Faculty of Civil Engineering, where we had the chance to discuss the current status of all the activities, identify the challenges ahead and make the first decisions on how to move on with this aspiring project for a more “circular construction sector”. Future Needs, as the leader of all the dissemination and exploitation activities for business and education, outlined the Communication and Dissemination strategy for the 4 years of the project implementation and informed the partners on the progress with the project visual identity and social media presence. Future Needs also discussed with the partners the main principles and guidelines in order to enable synergies with other projects and initiatives and announced more activities taking place in order to ensure the future exploitation and deployment of the project results and the continuation of the project research and innovation. The project will also train relevant stakeholders and will share the knowledge and its outputs to the widest possible target users, under the lead of Future Needs.
