Η Future Needs προσκαλεί επαγγελματίες του αγροτικού τομέα, εκπαιδευτικούς και ενδιαφερόμενους φορείς από την Κύπρο, καθώς και όσους ενδιαφέρονται για τη γεωργία ακριβείας και τη χρήση drone, στη δωρεάν διαδικτυακή εκδήλωση «Ευκαιρίες Καριέρας στη Γεωργία Ακριβείας με Χρήση Drone,» που θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Πέμπτη 19 Δεκεμβρίου 2024 στις 11.00. Η εκδήλωση θα πραγματοποιηθεί στα Ελληνικά και θα εξετάσει πώς η τεχνολογία των drone μετασχηματίζει τη γεωργία και ανοίγει νέα επαγγελματικά μονοπάτια.

Προκλήσεις και Τεχνολογικές Λύσεις στη Γεωργία

Ο αγροτικός τομέας στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση, με περισσότερους από 44 εκατομμύρια εργαζόμενους, αντιμετωπίζει μια σειρά αυξανόμενων προκλήσεων. Η παγκόσμια κατανάλωση τροφίμων αναμένεται να αυξηθεί κατά 70% έως το 2050, ενώ οι επιπτώσεις της κλιματικής αλλαγής εντείνονται συνεχώς. 

Στο επίκεντρο αυτής της τεχνολογικής επανάστασης βρίσκονται τα drone, προσφέροντας λύσεις αιχμής στη γεωργία ακριβείας, όπως ανάλυση εδάφους, διαχείριση άρδευσης και παρακολούθηση υγείας των καλλιεργειών. Ωστόσο, το έλλειμμα δεξιοτήτων παραμένει εμπόδιο για την ευρύτερη χρήση τους.

Εισηγήσεις των Ειδικών

Οι συμμετέχοντες θα παρακολουθήσουν παρουσιάσεις από:

• Theodoros Giovanni, Senior Officer in the Human Resources Department at The Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB), με θέμα «Οδηγώντας την Οικονομική Ανάπτυξη στην Κύπρο μέσω Υιοθέτησης Τεχνολογίας.»
• Debbie Phylactou, Senior Lecturer at the Cyprus Institute of Marketing και HR Manager, με θέμα «Νέες Δεξιότητες για ένα Σύγχρονο Εργατικό Δυναμικό στην Κύπρο.»
• Thanos Arvanitidis, Innovation Project Manager at Future Needs, ο οποίος θα παρουσιάσει τα κύρια αποτελέσματα του έργου AgroPro.

Οι συμμετέχοντες θα γνωρίσουν επίσης εργαλεία όπως το e-Guide, το Self-Assessment Tool και το MOOC (Massive Open Online Course), που αναπτύχθηκαν από τη Future Needs για την υποστήριξη επαγγελματιών του γεωργικού τομέα στην υιοθέτηση των drones.

Ενδυναμώνοντας τους Επαγγελματίες του Αγροτικού Τομέα

Η διαδικτυακή εκδήλωση είναι μέρος του Erasmus+ Ευρωπαϊκού έργου AgroPro, το οποίο έχει στόχο να εφοδιάσει τους επαγγελματίες του αγροτικού τομέα με τις απαραίτητες δεξιότητες για την καλύτερη αξιοποίηση των δυνατοτήτων των drones. Εστιάζοντας στην αντιμετώπιση της έλλειψης δεξιοτήτων, το έργο επιδιώκει την ευρύτερη και αποτελεσματικότητα χρήση αυτών των τεχνολογιών στον γεωργικό τομέα.

Future Needs Hosts Online Event on Smart Agriculture Careers with Drones

Future Needs invites professionals from the agricultural sector, educators, and interested stakeholders from Cyprus, as well as those interested in precision agriculture and the use of drones, to the free online event “Career Opportunities in Smart Agriculture Enabled by Drones” which will take place on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM. The event will be conducted in Greek and will explore how drone technology is revolutionising agriculture and opening new career paths.

Addressing Challenges in Agriculture

Agriculture in the European Union employs over 44 million people but faces mounting challenges. With global food consumption projected to increase by 70% by 2050 and the intensifying effects of extreme weather, innovative solutions are urgently needed. Drones are at the forefront of this revolution, providing cutting-edge tools for precision farming, soil analysis, irrigation management, and crop health monitoring. Despite their potential, the adoption of drone technology has been hindered by a significant knowledge and skills gap among agricultural workers.

Expert Insights and Demonstrations

Attendees will hear from speakers, including Debbie Phylactou, Senior Lecturer at the Cyprus Institute of Marketing I HR Manager. Her presentation, “New Skills for a Modern Workforce in Cyprus,” will explore how technological advancements are reshaping workforce demands.

Theodoros Giovanni, Senior Officer in the Human Resources Department at The Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB), will present on “Driving Economic Growth in Cyprus through Technology Adoption,” discussing how embracing technology can stimulate economic growth and enhance industrial development in Cyprus.

Thanos Arvanitidis, Innovation Project Manager at Future Needs, will share key outcomes from the AgroPro project. Attendees will also learn about tools developed by Future Needs, such as the e-Guide and Self-Assessment Tool, designed to support agricultural professionals in adopting drone technologies effectively. 

Additionally, the participants will have the opportunity to explore the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) developed within the project.

Empowering Agricultural Professionals

This online event is part of the AgroPro Erasmus+ EU project, an initiative designed to equip agricultural professionals with the expertise required to harness the power of drones. By addressing the skills gap, the project aims to enable more widespread and effective use of these technologies across the sector.
