Future Needs research on UAM presented at TSASummit 2025

Future Needs was proud to actively participate in the “Towards Sustainable Aviation” Summit, which took place in Toulouse, France, on January 28-30.  The conference brought together stakeholders of the aeronautical ecosystem from all industry profiles of expertise to address topics including aircraft design and operations perspectives to prepare and shape a more efficient Global Air Transport System to reach carbon neutrality by 2050 for the aviation ecosystem.

The TSAS 2025 summit, a hub for innovation and collaboration, featured 34 sessions, nearly 140 speakers, 111 presentations, and 9 roundtable discussions. Future Needs contributed with a key presentation by Anna Palaiologk on the study

“Integrating Urban Air Mobility into Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans: A Framework and Occupational Profiles for Smart Cities.” — Anna Palaiologk, CEO and Founder of Future Needs

Anna’s presentation was one among several inspiring presentations on the Operations topic. The summit also hosted presentations on topics for a new industry set-up, the aircrafts’ eco-design and sustainability related to energy and propulsion.

TSAS2025: the key takeaways from the main summit themes

The ambition for carbon-neutral growth for aviation has opened a new era for the aviation ecosystem and new opportunities to meet these new challenges. TSAS 2025 collected progress made since the former edition on the previous technologies but also highlighted new technologies including hydrogen propulsion systems and AI, as part of the digital transformation of the industry. It focused on SAF, more electrical aircraft, more autonomous aircraft and some emerging technologies or approaches such as Artificial Intelligence and the digital transformation of the industry, including the intensive use of big data – and finally, security seen not as a threat but as an opportunity for improvement.

Finally the event was a great opportunity to meet some dear colleagues and partners, but also make new aquaintances and have interesting discussions. A gallery of pictures is available at the end of the article.
