Circular Construction & Sustainable Cities (CCSC) Cluster

A growing community shaping greener and smarter built environments

What is the
CCSC Cluster?

The CCSC Cluster is a platform to support collaboration between organisations across research, industry, policy and local authorities, working on the sustainability of the built environment, from digital twins and tools to new business models and policy recommendations. It was created to sustain collaboration beyond individual EU projects and turn short-term partnerships into long-term connections. Today, the cluster brings together a community that wants to stay connected, exchange

Why join?
The CCSC Cluster brings together people working on the future of cities to develop and demonstrate technologies that support digitalisation and automation across the urban planning sector. Together, we aspire to support urban planning and cities to be more resilient, circular, and globally competitive. We offer an open, pan-European space to exchange ideas, share knowledge and best practices, and tackle real-world challenges in a practical, collaborative way, dedicated to creating a more resilient, resource-efficient built environment.

You will:
  • collaborate on events, initiatives, and shared activities
  • stay engaged beyond project participation
  • explore future collaboration opportunities and build partnerships for upcoming initiatives
  • take part in working groups and contribute to discussions around topics that matter to you
  • increase your visibility across a relevant European network
  • to amplify impact, share best practices, and connect organisations dedicated to creating a more resilient, resource-efficient built environment.

Our goals

  • To develop and demonstrate solutions for industry collaboration and waste traceability toward a zero-waste industry by 2050.
  • To support the development of advanced digital and technological tools for circular construction and demolition waste management in regions and cities
  • Create learning resources for current and future construction professionals.
  • To transform the urban planning sector to address climate change more effectively.
  • To understand how people respond to alerts, high temperatures, and changes in air quality.
  • To target interventions that protect those most at risk.
  • Contribute to standards and best practices that advance circularity and inform policy choices on zoning, greening, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • To raise awareness and exploit synergies with city stakeholders for the development of solutions tailored to their needs.
