Future Needs, as the communication, dissemination and exploitation leader of the Horizon Europe RefMap project, is organising the Aviation Twin Transition (ATT) Clustering Event, which will take place on 29 July 2025 at the Central Library of the National Technical University of Athens, Greece.
As part of this event, we invite researchers, practitioners, innovators, and policymakers to submit abstracts that contribute to advancing the sustainable and digital transformation of aviation and Urban Air Mobility (UAM).
Presentations will aim at showcasing the latest scientific research, relevant policies, or innovative programmes on green and digital aviation. Each accepted presentation will be 15 minutes, followed by an engaging panel discussion with audience participation.
Abstract submission deadline: 25 June 2025
Notification of acceptance: 30 June 2025
Presenter registration deadline: 10 July 2025
All selected abstracts will be featured in the ATT Book of Abstracts, distributed to all conference attendees.
Presentation Themes
Submissions should relate to at least one of the following topics:
- Sustainability challenges in aviation
- Regulatory challenges and/or opportunities in greening and digitising aviation
- Digital leadership in aviation (demonstrations and results)
- Emerging aviation business models and services
Abstract Guidelines
Please structure your abstract as follows:
- Abstract (max. 3,000 characters including spaces): Describe the purpose, objectives, and added value of the presentation. Clearly state its relevance to the ATT agenda and indicate the presentation format.
- Main messages (max. 200 characters each): Summarise the two key takeaways or expected impact of your presentation.
Submit your abstract via email to refmap@futureneeds.eu, clearly indicating which ATT topic your proposal addresses.
Evaluation procedure
All submitted proposals will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee of the Refmap project. Each proposal will be reviewed by 3 reviewers and scored on the basis of the following criteria:
- Does the submission follow the structure/content suggested in the guidelines?
- Is the information new enough and innovative?
- Is the subject matter interesting and relevant for the ATT Clustering event audience? (What is already known on this topic? What does this presentation add?)
- Are the objectives of the presentation clearly defined?
- Will the presentation stimulate thought or debate?
- Is there a clear format for interaction and participant involvement?
- Is the presentation a collaboration between various organisations/institutes/European countries?
