The RESURGE project contributes to building a coherent and resilient policy framework for responding to immediate economic security threats. Simultaneously, it equips the European Union to meet longer-term challenges to its open strategic autonomy and research security that are already on the horizon.
The central objective of RESURGE is to find solutions to the dilemma of protecting Europe from the weaponisation of interdependence while maintaining the openness of the global economy that has allowed trade and investment to flourish, all while deepening relationships with like-minded partners globally.
Future Needs is leading the Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication activities of the project, ensuring engagement with relevant stakeholders to exchange, consolidate and facilitate the uptake of our findings.
Our core responsibilities include:
Communication & Dissemination: Designing mechanisms - including a visual identity - to maintain a dynamic awareness of external threats and highlighting the collective benefits of EU-level action for economic security.
Policy & Instrument Promotion: Leading the exploitation strategy to translate recommendations into accessible resources that help the EU enhance its strategic instruments to prevent, protect, promote, and partner.
Community Building: Leading clustering activities and cross-project synergies with broader policy communities in Brussels and national capitals to maximise the project's real-world impact.
